Just wanted to let you know that I just passed 80 hours and 100,000 calories!!!!  And that with being gone on vacation for two weeks!!!  I also have lost 20 pounds.  I still work out on it for an hour a day.  That shows that I burn an average of 1250 calories every time I get on the machine.  I do the "glute kick" once a week as you suggested.  When I do that, I average a heart rate of 150+ and burn 1600 calories in that hour.  It's a great workout and I actually enjoy sweating my butt off.  I did just have blood work done and the doctor was amazed at how my numbers had improved--dramatically.  Some of the numbers that I have had trouble with over the years--the doctor said that they just don't get any better than what I am at now.  Amazing!!!

I recently purchased a treadmill from Matt Havlicek at the Merle Hay Road 2nd Wind. I wanted to write you a letter to share my experience with you. I am a 70 year old man and walk everyday, so when my treadmill broke down I decided to shop for a new one. I happened to drive by 2nd Wind and decided to check out what they had. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking that some young sales guy would try to push me into something that I did not need. Matt approached me and introduced himself and asked me my name. Matt called me by my first name, James. I explained to Matt that senior citizens deserved respect and he should address me by my last name. Matt took the time to ask me about my fitness goals, and showed me the difference between 2nd Wind's products and department store brands. After I was convinced I was not going back to a department store to get a treadmill, Matt explained the importance of heart rate training in terms that I could understand. We tried out the treadmill and I bought it that day. Matt also explained the importance of strength training. When I get my next check I am going to buy a ball and some weights, and Matt is going to show me how not to bulk up, but lose weight. Matt also personally delivered the treadmill and stayed and trained me until I understood how to do heart rate training. Matt has earned a customer and friend for life. I will definitley send my family and friends in. He promised that he will take care of me and I know he will stick to his word because he wrote it on the back of his business card and signed it. I just wanted to give him the credit for a job well done!

I bought my Octane elliptical machine about 4 months ago, it sat there for the first month until I was motivated to use it, I started using it 5 to 6 days a week and following a healthy diet plan. I have lost 20lbs in 9 weeks and dropped two pant sizes. I am very happy with my elliptical machine, it has reshaped my figure. Thanks to the Blaine MN store for helping me with my purchase and being patient to make sure I was satisfied.

I want to let the people at Second Wind know that I am very happy with my Octane Fitness machine and the salesman, (Roger Anderson) who sold, delivered and installed it for me. The experience from the beginning was exceptional. Roger was very helpful and knowledgeable about the machines I had interest in. Every question I had, and there were many, he had a very well-informed answer. I decided on the Octane Q45E and Roger delivered it himself and put it together for me. After a few days of using it, I decided to exchange the console and he called the service dept. and had them come out with said new console. I also got a couple more follow-up calls from Roger just to make sure everything was just perfect for me. I've never left a testimonial before for anything, but after my positive experience with Roger and my Octane Fitness elliptical machine, I felt that this deserved mentioning. Thanks to Roger and Second Wind Exercise, I have a good shot of getting rid of my unsightly waistline while improving my overall health at the same time.

I guess it all started about 7 months ago. I had gotten to a pretty low point in my life, I've been overweight for most of my life. But By August of 2005 I was 27 years old, 5'10", and over 345
pounds. 345 is the number I go with because the scale was bottomed out. My blood pressure was 150 somethingover 120, (I cannot remember the exact top number) my face was red, and I was constantly out of breath. Needless to say at the end of August I had gotten sick and tired of being sick and tired. I started around August 25th and slowly started lifting weights again just using an ez curl bar for a week or two, just to get back into it and not get so sore that I'd quit. I then started walking about 2 miles everyday. I started watching what I ate, quit drinking soda, stopped eating at work (Work at a prison, high carb food), and started taking some very basic supplements from GNC. After my arms started getting so sore from lifting I went down to 2nd Wind Fitness in Madison, Wisconsin, on the east side. I had been to Dick's sporting goods and a couple other places and I did not like the quality of the equipment they were selling so I talked to the guy at Dick's and told them I wanted a higher end bench press and said there had to be a place in Madison that carried industrial strength equipment. That in a nut shell was how I learned of 2nd Wind. I went over there and purchased an adjustable bench from Hoist Fitness and a flat bench for dumbbells and such from Parabody. I lift 5 days a week, Monday and Friday are bench and tris, tuesdays and thursdays are back, shoulders, and bis, and wednesdays are just kind of a light day. I walk a minimum of three miles a day now and every other day I walk 5 to 6. About one month ago I finally got enough money to purchase a lat tower by parabody and have since added quite a few new exercises to my workout. To date I have lost 130 pounds and actually it's probably about 135 now. My waist went from about 52" to 36-38", depending on brand of pants. I wear large and xl size shirts, my blood pressure is now 138 over 78. Everything feels so much better, my quality of life has improved so dramatically. I just want to thank 2nd wind for carrying the type of equipment they do and to keep the word up, because there are people trying everyday to do what I did, they just need a little encouragement.

My husband and I just bought a Hoist #2 Classic from your 2nd Wind store in Forest Lake. We have it put together and we love it. I have had 18 back surgeries and six leg surgeries—it was either physical therapy or a home exercise gym. The gym was easier for us and less expensive for the insurance company. So we went out looking. I won’t give names here, it doesn’t matter. One store we walked into (not 2nd Wind) we could find nobody to help. Another one—we were told, “Just walk around and see of you can find something you like.” Well heck, I liked them all, which one do we need, we don’t know. Well, we were about ready to get real upset. Then, I remembered seeing that commercial on TV on 2nd Wind and so we said, well we’ll give it a try. We walked into 2nd Wind in Forest Lake, and there we met Tim Farrell. Up until then, this exercise thing was not a good thing. Tim was awesome to say the least. He showed us everything – then went back and really concentrated on what we needed. Not only that, when we landed on an exercise gym that like us. As much as we like it – Tim worked with the insurance company, not a fun thing to do. Well, after weeks of hassle, it was settled – thanks to Tim. Yes! I know that selling exercise equipment is his job, but it’s possible to do a job and get it done and not be so nice about it. We were very green when it comes to purchasing exercise equipment and Tim turned a real nightmare into a really fun, great experience. He’s got a great personality, and he goes that extra mile to help. Gosh, he even returned phone calls. Tim was a real blessing to us, and to others – we got a chance to watch him while he was working with another customer, same thing, helpful, pleasant, and he’s got a sense of humor – a real bonus. He seems to love his job, and he does it sooo well. If you give a pat on the back and a “job well done,” Tim Farrell really deserves it. If we fun across anyone looking for exercise equipment, we will be more than happy to send them to 2nd Wind in Forest Lake and Tim Farrell. Thanks you for reading this and thanks you also for having people like Tim working for 2nd Wind. Exercise stuff is your business and you have no idea what it means to have someone so helpful when you have not a clue what you need, or even what you are looking for. Thank you sooooo much!!!

I would like to commend you on one of your fine employees. My wife and I purchased an elliptical machine in September 2003. We had several problems with the machine and actually had to have it repaired and replaced several times. Bob went above all of my expectations in dealing with this matter. After the several replacements a new model of the machine was sent to me at no charge and with what I expect was the design flaw replaced. I would also like to thank all the fine gentlemen that came out for the repairs and replacements and their professional attitudes and conduct. Thank you so very much and I would recommend 2nd Wind to all of my friends and family.

Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to help lead us in the right direction. We are very pleased with the stationary bike and Hoist 100. We really like the idea of working out at home versus going to a crowded gym and waiting to use the equipment. I can get a better workout at home. It is the best equipment I have ever used. Thanks for all your help.

We absolutely love our Hoist Home Gym! It is everything that we ever dreamed it would be and, most importantly, it doesn't take up much room. Thanks 2nd Wind!

So glad that your Fitness Consultant recommended the PaceMaster ProPlusII. It is far and away the best value that I could find in a treadmill and I am so pleased!
